Slover Library expands its creative resources with the grand opening of the Sound Studio, providing a dedicated space for independent creators and building a bridge from home recording to professional studio. The fourth installment in the Creative Studios, the Sound Studio joins the Design, Maker and Production Studios to inspire patrons to “Discover, Learn, Create, and Share.” Free and open to the public, the Sound Studio serves Norfolk’s vibrant community of over 1,000 recording artists and producers as well as educational programs dedicated to audio and music.

The Sound Studio is open by reservation, free to all patrons with a Norfolk Public Library card. Patrons may reserve the Sound Studio booths free-of-charge on a first-come, first served basis after completing the required orientation session.

Reservations are not guaranteed and requires completion of Orientation to specified Studio and or equipmentand a valid library card in good standing to be granted access.

Default reservation starts with 30 minutes, which includes set-up and breakdown. You may select a time-extension in Add-ons.

Tuesday - Thursday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
